The morning featured pools of four teams playing 16mins (or 10mins by the time the ref got themselves sorted) matches against each other. Oh and it rained, really hard and really continually.
City I won 2 and had an unfortunate draw against London U16s, finishing second in their pool on goal difference. For City II a combination of heavy rain, added to our opponents greater experience and guile made conditions difficult, and they battled valiantly to three losses.
In the afternoon teams were in pools of five based on where they finished in the morning, finishing with a play-off match to determine places.
City I won 3 and drew 1. Whilst for City II spirits remained high and increased with the improved weather in the afternoon. They played some really good korfball but four very narrow defeats at the end of the day could easily have gone the other way on another day.
In the play-off game City I managed to
draw 1-1 against the mighty
City II finished 37th whilst City I came joint 11th/12th (but also remained one of the few undefeated teams for the whole of the tournament).

A nice warm shower and a big bowl of
chilli in the bar followed by an enjoyably random selection of music from the
live covers band rounded off the day well, with a number of City scorching the
dance floor with their red hot moves.
Thanks for everyone who came along and braved the elements, for those who drove, John R for organising City II, and for Carla and John R for reffing.
