City 1 vs. Tigers 1

I am informed that as a club Cambridge City have an intense, complicated and deep rooted rivalry with their neighbours Cambridge Tigers. Having never actually lost to them I don't quite see the fuss… but none the less City 1 assembled at KK eager to cement upon their 21-11 victory 9 days earlier.

Having (for possibly the first time all season) a full strength line-up Tigers fielded what appeared to be a vastly stronger team for this local league throw-about, and in the absence of our beloved shot-clock confidence was no doubt high in the orange camp for a midweek upset.

With Gary wielding the whistle the match was soon under way, with Tigers racing to a magnificent 1-0 lead via a long shot from Tom. City soon levelled however and despite swapping goals City soon established a half time lead. Some interesting 1 on 1 battles were developing all over the pitch, apart from best mates Jack and James (Northfield) who both just walked around aimlessly on the pitch.

The second half was far more exciting, because more goals were scored - and everyone likes goals. Carla definitely scored quite a few of them, as did Loes. In fact I think most people got on the score sheet, because as a team City 1 like to share. We didn't score over 20 for once but apparently Janine doesn't mind - unless I missed that email.

Good stuff overall then, which extends City 1's unbeaten run in the local league to… lots of games.
