Dear all,
The end of the Korfball season is rapidly approaching and I am sure that many of you are concerned that your Sunday afternoons could become repetitive and dull. Who wants to waste away their free time in a beer garden with too much food, alcohol and (possibly) sunshine? It sounds awful. Fear not, I have a solution to this worrying situation.
My brilliant plan is to organise a group to enter the Spartan race in Cambridge (well, Royston) on Sunday 24 July. It's a three mile race with a variety of different obstacles to overcome; walls, water, mud, rope climbing and some wannabe Gladiators with pugil sticks. The videos on the website probably explain this far better than I can.
My apologies in advance, but I will be boring you all to death until you agree to come along with me! I currently have a couple of people who would like to come (though, in fairness, they were drinking when they agreed). There is a group discount and I am happy to take all of your money… I mean collect all of the money for the entries so that we can benefit from this discount.
Everyone who completes the race gets a t-shirt, a medal and a free beer. I might even organise a trip to a pub afterwards for some food and a couple of celebratory drinks - it also happens to be my birthday that week.
I am sure that this is enough to convince many of you, I will continue to work on the rest.
