STOP PRESS! Cambridge City qualify for Champions Trophy with 4 games left to play after a not-so-close-as-the-scoreline-would-suggest defeat over fourth place Kingfishers 2.

COLLIER CAR GIVES UP ON THE M11! Stranding half of the team on the hard shoulder meaning that were it not for Mrs ‘Saved the day’ McGregor and friend bringing a spare car and Loes and Halim deciding that maybe they would stop for those crazy people waving at them (they missed the 73 missed calls on their phones) the match may have been over before it began.

ROCKY START FOR CITY! as Kingfishers took advantage of their home support and traded goals with the visiting side before taking an early lead.

TEARS AND TANTRUMS FROM KINGFISHERS! may have marked the turning point as a level headed Cambridge City brought the score level going into half time.

SUPER-SUB HALIM SINKS EVERYTHING! taking literally his pre-match instructions to just shoot without worrying about any potential consequences, like perhaps missing which didn’t seem to happen as he sunk a hat-trick to help City take what was at one stage a 5 goal lead mid into the second half.

COLLIER GOAL CELEBRATION CONTINUES TO BAFFLE EVERYONE! Is it a switch ends signal? Is he spinning an imaginary plate? Nobody knows, but everyone was happy to turn a blind eye after two goals in the last five minutes sealed the win.

MCNAMARA AWARDS HIMSELF MVP! Which was probably justified after three goals scored from legs that were still recovering from a 24 hour cyclathon and being forced to ‘sit through the pain’ all the way to Kent.

GOALS ALL ROUND! (Apart from Carla who spent the majority of the game doing an outstanding job at the post) The final score sheet reads as follows: Jack (3), Halim (3), Sian (3), Simon (2), Nick (2), Antony (1), Andy (1), Loes (1), Bayley (1).
