Whilst technically this game was a walkover (Lions borrowed 2 Phoenix girls to make 8), there was still a game to play and City were determined to maintain their unbeaten start to the season.

The first half was played at pace and City took an early lead. However, with Lions frequently winning turnover ball, this was soon reversed as the score moved to 2-1. With half-time approaching a mini fightback from City restored parity to the score

Half-time: 3-3

City regrouped at the break and started the second half in more assured fashion. Early scores created a 2 goal buffer for City and, though Lions also added to their tally, the lead was not seriously threatened. A final flurry stretched the lead further and took City in to double figures.
