Both teams had a steady start, the first goal scored from an off balanced long shot from Lions (0-1) after 10 minutes. Lions second goal came 2 mins later from a penalty cause by an impeded running in shot. Lions finished the half with a short shot (0-3). City failure to score in the first half restricted to long shots that were just off the target.

Lions sneaked a quick goal, before Dave opened the scoring 6mins into the half with his trademark long shot. Lions started to vary their play scoring a drop off (1-5). City then staged a minor come back with Lydia finally shooting and scoring (2-5). Pieter then sunk a long shot (3-5). Lions then responded with 3 goals that put the game beyond City (3-8). Rose got a goal under the post (4-8) and Dave sunk a second long shot (5-9) but Lions remained in control to win by 5 goals. City gave a spirited performance but struggled to score against a solid defence.
