City 2 vs. Phoenix 1

Report:

It is the new year and City 2 were back in action. Facing a physical
Phoenix 1 team, Halim, Nick, Sian and Jenni started in attack, while
Captain Rob led his division of himself, George, Elly and Bayley in
first defence.

The game started evenly in the first half. Goals were being exchanged
back and forth between the two teams. We led by 3 goals at one time,
with Nick and Sian looking particularly dangerous in their division,
swapping their panther and bear roles with fluidity. In the other
division, Bayley scored a scrappy goal after George stole (presumably
legally… ahem) the ball from a confused Phoenix player.

The game showed the good, the bad, and the ugly sides of this City 2
team. We were not able to hang on to our lead. Phoenix came back strong
and we trailed by a goal at halftime. Sadly, it was downhill from that
point on. Hot shooting from Phoenix boys and some well executed running
in shots from their girls did the damage.

Coach Janine brought on Aggie for Jenni and Dave W for George in the
second half, but we were still unable to turn the table. Final score:
15-11. Hopefully a quick revenge is in store.
